The boy who wasn't eight  This is the story of Joey.  Joey was a normal eight-year-old boy. He loved playing with his friends enjoyed being home with his parents. Third grade was fun and summer was coming! Everything seemed just right. One day some Joey's classmates were talking next year. "I wonder what fourth grade will be like?" said one girl.  "Probably the same but you are just a year older," replied one boy.   A couple of older kids overheard the conversation and decided to have some fun teasing the younger kids.   "Fourth grade is completely different!" one of them said. "It is so tough! We have to do loads of homework!" The other older kid said, "I don't have nearly as much time to play. I never get to hang out with my friends!" "There isn't even time to watch your favorite shows on TV!" As Joe listened, he couldn't believe it! Fourth grade sounded terrible! Joe couldn't stop thinking about what he had heard about how bad fourth grade was.  He imagined being nine was going to be tough and he made a birthday wish  I wish I could stay eight forever and in his mind he thought it might happen if I can blow all the candles my wish can come true so when his ninth birth day came he got an anonymous breath of air and blew out all the candles except one the ninth candle a happy ninth birthday is family said all  Oh no it didn't work I'm not going to get to be eight for ever he thought about this all night and he came up with an plan why can't I just say I'm eight everyone will believe I'm eight and I can stay in the third grade and I can continue to play and I will never have homework  the more he thought about it the more you liked the idea he knew all about lies but this was a lie  it wouldn't hurt anybody no one would even know and he could be eight for ever and never have any of those troubles and all the other kids were going he could stay eight for ever  the next day's parents and him off to school and when the bus arrived they were filing into the classrooms and his name was called to be in the fourth grade he said to the teacher know you must be mistaken I am in the third grade and he was so convinced that he convinced he was so convincing that the teacher believed him and send him and said you're right there must be a mistake and send him to third grade class well  he met all new third-graders everyone was eight and everyone played in half had a great time and no one knew that he wasn't really eight he had he knew that his idea was perfect when he walked down the halls and that no one was getting hurt so this lie could be that bad  that year when he walked down the halls some of the kids he used to being glass with in his other third-grade noticed him and wonder what is he doing in the third grade again he must have not been smart enough to get in the fourth grade some of them speculated off maybe we shouldn't say anything he's it would just embarrass  him oh well and they let it be his lie was safe he could continue being eight at least for one more year  and at the end of that year he was so happy with the way things had worked out classwork was so much easier this year because he had had the year before and that left more time to play so he thought I can just keep doing this every year  and Whitis 10th birthday came and his parents made him a cake  (note change this to reflect his life to his parents does he lied to his parents as well does everyone in the world know him as a strange eight… ) His parents made him a cake and it said 10 but he in his heart was still eight and he would keep telling people he was eight he went to school and did the same thing again he was eight again and he went back to third grade and had the same four and the kids it saw him Feltes from his former class felt the same way he's not smart enough to move ahead and they didn't say anything  this happened again and again year after year he remained 8... (visually we will be getting the joke as page turn and his visuals he's getting bigger and I'm goofier looking eight-year-old because he's 1011 1213.) ..once this had happened multiple times and he had had so much fun as an eight-year-old again and again a funny thing happened was in class and the teacher asked him a question he begin to respond and his voice cracked what was that no eight-year-old's voice is cracked he realized his body was changing but the teachers couldn't know that or he would get into trouble who I think I have a call he said and hunched down trying to hide his new hike I think that I should probably go home we will leave that up to your parents they will need to come get you but he knew if they came they would see using the wrong classroom but he was not in the seventh grade class he was in the third grade class him I'll just I think I'm okay he said I'll be fine's voice continued to crack in the teacher looked at him with a strange look all the other kids thought he was strange and no one wanted to play with them at recess I'll have to do a better job of hiding my voice it is going to give away my live so any time he felt his voice was going to be strange he would tell another lie my I am sick I can't talk today and he would get out of talking but he didn't get to have much fun because none of the kids wanted to play with the sick with another sick child he was still able to have lots of fun and continued to lie about his age and came back to class again next year back to the third grade he had lots of fun but another funny thing happened this year he started to have whiskers and some mornings he forgot to shave the kids wondered why isn't third-grader having a beard could Nic he couldn't explain it but Scott Ally again I'm playing in a play I am wearing a beard for my part and my director thought it was a good idea to get used to the beard no one really understood is But they didn't need they didn't care all that much anyway because they thought he was pretty strange any way so they let it go.a whole lot of people not a whole lot of children wanted to play with him he was just too different the other kids were all having fun and he felt even though he was enjoying himself that he was missing out on something and he felt very strange it didn't feel very nice but he was determined to stay eight-year-old eight years old forever a few more years went by and he learned how to take care of his beard in his voice was deeper now but he learned how to talk sparingly to where not many people noticed just how different is voice and he had fun but very few kids Hongo a funny thing happened he turns 25 he turns 40 he turns 60 all these moments need to have some crisis and some When he finally decides he wants to tell the truth he realizes how hard everyone knows me as an eight-year-old everyone I meet at the bank at the driving school at the Grosh grocery store is formerly ate an eight-year-old I went to school with each of them Mizz him and remembers him and as an adult they've understood he was lying and they can't trust him he doesn't fit in his ally has put him outside of normal life he's very sad that it's a bit too heavy at the end this needs to be farcical it needs lots of reality but the image of grandpa looking person in class should be funny and the sadness shouldn't be too peruke Bolerio like it's not this is in a fantasy world it shouldn't switch completely to our world at the end it's the difference between comedy and drama ADD 3 best friends from 3 different years.
